Microsoft World of Flight

World of Flight coverWay back in 1995, before the Web was of more than academic interest, Microsoft developed a series of multimedia titles and distributed them on CD-ROM.

I worked on two titles in the Exploration Series as a producer, writer, and editor. The first, Ancient Lands, explored the civilizations of Egypt, Greece, and Rome.

The second title, World of Flight, was an interactive multimedia museum on a disc that explored the history, people, and technology of aviation.

World of Flight included pictures, film clips, animations, narrated guided tours, quizzes, and many other interactive elements, all accessible through a proto-Web-like interface.
